NEKOOSA, WI  (WSAU)  -  Nekoosa School District officials confirm that students are being sent home early today (3/11/13) so that staff and law enforcement can conduct a search of the school buildings and grounds.  

Staff confirms that a threat was made concerning a possible weapon in school, so the district decided to lock the facility down and take all necessary precautions.

No weapon has been found as of 1:40 p.m. 

Nekoosa Police are continuing the investigation.
