WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) Wausau West boys basketball coach Jeff Bruggink resigned this week after 8 years at the helm. Bruggink said the demands and time commitments of running a basketball program from the youth level up to a varsity program got to be too much.

The Warriors won 2 Valley titles in his tenure but struggled the last two seasons with only one conference win. He leaves with an overall record of 90-91.

He had coached earlier at a school in Minnesota and spent 16 seasons as an assistant at West before taking the head job. He will continue to teach math at the school.
