MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  Governor Scott Walker wants to promote private-sector job growth, but to help do that, he actually created a public sector job to facilitate a new jobs law.

Governor Walker signed the Wisconsin Fast Forward measure into law, which among other things, manages 15 million dollars in training grants with a director and a staff of three. Now, Wisconsin needs someone to be that director. Department of Workforce Development Secretary Reggie Newson is recruiting for the new Office of Skills Development. If you’re interested, you don’t have much time to apply. The deadline for applications is March 25. Newson posted a job notice that seeks a talented, innovative director, who will be responsible for the running the customized worker training grant program. The director will report directly to Secretary Newson.

You will find the job description and application instructions for the position, Director, Office of Skills Development, on the Office of State Employment Relations Wisconsin.Jobs site.
