ELCHO, WI (WSAU) -

A snowmobiler was found dead Saturday near Elcho. 

Langlade County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a deceased man found near a snowmobile on private property north of Otter Lake at around noon Saturday. The rider has been identified as 55-year-old Robert Ottman of Rhinelander.

Preliminary reports revealed that Ottman had apparently driven his snowmobile onto the private property in an attempt to gain access to the lake. His snowmobile became stuck trying to do this. The exact cause of his death is still under investigation. Deputies are seeking public input, since they want to know where Mr. Ottman was Friday night.
