MOSINEE, Wisc (WSAU) Central Wisconsin Airport is waiting to hear about possible FAA cutbacks that might impact airport operations. A list of smaller, regional airports that would lose air traffic controllers was supposed to be announced today. Now those cuts will be announced on Friday.
If air traffic controllers are cut, airport take-offs and landings would be controlled by towers at larger airports like Minneapolis. Those control towers might be overseeing multiple airports, and flights might be delayed or cancelled.
CWA managers and local leaders met yesterday. They're continuing normal operations until they hear otherwise.
