OMAHA, NE (WSAU) — The Marquette mens basketball team won an incredible game on Wednesday night as they topped Creighton 106-104 in OT.
Markus Howard led the Golden Eagles with 53 points which is a Marquette record. He was 15-26 and 10-4 on three pointers.
It looked like Marquette would lose in regulation as they were down 85-2 with one second left on the game. Creighton’s Connor Cashaw threw a long pass that went out of bounds without touching anyone which gave the Golden Eagles a chance. SPASH grad Sam Hauser then hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to OT.
Hauser finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds while his brother Joey added 13 points and five boards.
Marquette is now 13-3, 2-1 in the Big East.
