MAPLEWOOD, MN (WSAU) - There’s some new information about the Wausau area woman who is missing and presumed dead in the Twin Cities. An amended criminal complaint against Jeffrey Trevino was released by the Ramsey County Minnesota Attorney’s Office.
The amended complaint confirms that search parties near Keller Lake in Maplewood, Minnesota found an item of interest. That item is a plastic bag containing a bloody pillow and pillowcase, shirt, sports bra, and a sponge. The document also says the blood residue from the items matches the DNA profile of 30-year-old Kira Steger Trevino.
A search under the ice of Keller Lake last weekend yielded no new information.
Kira Trevino has been missing since Feb. 24th. Her husband, 39-year-old Jeffrey Trevino has been charged in his wife’s death.
St. Paul, Minnesota Police are coordinating the investigation. Their phone tip line is 651-560-3277.
There’s also a special fund to help Kira’s family with expenses:
