Packers Sign Another Kicker

Green Bay Packers.

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) There’s a report that the Green Bay Packers have signed a possible new competitor for kicker Mason Crosby. C-B-S Sports says Giorgio Tavecchio has signed with the team.

He played his college ball at California when Packers’ receiver Jeremy Ross was there. Ross tweeted last night that Tavecchio was on his way to Green Bay.

He was at San Francisco last summer, before the 49ers cut him at the end of training camp. Tavecchio is from Milan Italy. He made 75-percent of his field goal attempts at California.

Earlier, the Packers reportedly auditioned Eddy Carmona and Michael Barnard, apparently to give Crosby some training camp competition for the first time in five years. Crosby was last in the N-F-L in field goal percentage in 2012, making almost 64-percent of his attempts.
