WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Wisconsinite, husband, father, County Executive, Governor, author? Yes, author, with a little help. Governor Scott Walker announced Tuesday he has a book deal.
The Sentinel Imprint of Penguin Group has acquired the rights to Walker’s memoirs, and the title is Unintimidated: A Governor’s Story and a Nation’s Challenge.
Marc Thiessen is a former chief speechwriter for President George W. Bush, and is working with Governor Walker as a co-writer.
During a stop at Wausau Container Corporation in Wausau Tuesday, Walker told the media that many people have inquired about what has happened during the past couple of years. “A lot of people were interested in what happened here in Wisconsin, and what lessons could be learned elsewhere in the country, so obviously, we’ll let more details out when the book comes out.”
There has been speculation that Walker might run for President, and when asked about how the book might help him in a national campaign, the Governor says he is happy being the Governor. “I had to work pretty hard the last two years, twice now, to be Governor. I love being Governor. I’m going to continue to be focused on being Governor, and it’s just one more way we can talk about what we’re doing here in Wisconsin.”
Expect the book to contain more information about Walker’s two campaigns for one term in office, battles with groups over Act 10, and turning around a 3.6 billion dollar state budget deficit.
Unintimidated is scheduled for release later this year.
