PITTSBURGH, PA (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers will try to give Kyle Lohse some run support for a change, when the Crew plays the Pirates in Pittsburgh tonight. The Milwaukee offense has either scored one run or none with Lohse on the mound in five of his last seven starts.'
But the veteran right-hander has not done himself any favors lately. Lohse has a four-point-nine-three E-R-A for his last three starts, all losses. He says he won’t hang his head about the lack of run support – and he can only control what he does.
Lohse is coming off loss to Texas last Wednesday night, in which he gave up four runs in six-and-a-third innings. He’s 1-and-4 for the season with an E-R-A of just over three-and-a-half.
The Pirates will send left-hander Jeff Locke to the hill tonight. He’s 3-and-1 with an E-R-A of two-point-nine-five. Locke is 2-and-0 in his last four starts. He gave up one run in six innings in a hard-luck loss to the New York Mets last Thursday night.
The Brewers ended a four-game losing streak with a four-run victory at Pittsburgh last night. The Pirates snapped a three-game winning streak.
