No Sloan For Bucks

MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU)We don’t know who the next Milwaukee Bucks’ coach will be – but we know it won’t be Jerry Sloan. His agent, Keith Glass, tells N-B-A-Dot-Com that the 71-year-old Hall of Fame coach is interested in returning to the league, but Milwaukee is quote, “not the right fit for him right now.”

On Monday, U-S-A Today said Sloan was being “seriously considered” for the Bucks’ job after he met with team officials. Glass said a team’s potential to win a title is important to Sloan and it’s quote, “just the reality” that Milwaukee’s not in that category.

Sloan coached for 22 seasons at Utah before resigning in 2011, saying he was out of energy. He turned down the coaching job at Portland a year ago, and he pulled out of a search at Charlotte last summer.

The Bucks have interviewed four other potential candidates as a replacement for Jim Boylan, who was fired earlier this month. The four are Nate McMillan, Kelvin Sampson, J-B Bickerstaff, and Steve Clifford.
