'Infinite Campus' leader speaks after school software reversal

UNDATED (WSAU)   The head of a Minnesota software company that may lose a large state contract is fighting back. Infinite Campus risks having an $80-million contract taken away, after Stevens Point-based competitor Skyward got state lawmakers to undo a 'single vendor' proposal from the State Department of Public Instruction.

Infinite Campus president Charlie Kratsch traveled to Madison a day after the Joint Finance Committee vote. He says Skyward was making a false threat of leaving Stevens Point and taking its jobs elsewhere. Kratsch said Skyward was using its employees as hostages or pawns in its negotiations with the state.

Governor Walker could still reverse the Joint Finance Committee's decision by using his line-item veto.
