TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WSAU) -- The wildlife was moving a lot last week, even before the gun deer hunting season began Saturday.

In Lincoln County alone, there were twenty-seven car and deer crashes last week, with twenty-four of them happening before opening morning.

Deputies also responded to a crash involving a car and a bear on Highway 8 just east of Highway 51 during the Wednesday snowstorm. An Oneida County motorist also struck a black wolf on Highway 51 north of Highway C Tuesday.
