KRONENWETTER, Wis (WSAU) There will be a special assessment for people living in Kronenwetter in a section of the village that's experienced flooding and run-off problems. The village board voted 4-2 to have the general fund cover 45-percent of the project costs. The other 55-percent will be passed on to people who own property in the area.
The village also said the costs can be spread out over a 10-year period.
A house-by-house map was presented last night. Some people will pay $2,200. Others will pay $1,800. Some will pay $360 depending on where they live and the elevation of their basements.
People who live in the special assessment area have argued that costs of the project should be spread out across the entire village.
