MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - There’s been some controversy surrounding a proposed “high-end” apartment complex on Marshfield’s north side, and now homeowners affected by the project are being urged to attend a meeting of the city’s “Plan Commission” later today to learn more about the project. The proposed complex would be located just to the East of Wal-Mart, and re-zoning for the project was tabled by the city’s Common Council last week until more information was available to residents. Alderman Ed Wagner says, “I want to encourage everyone to attend the public hearing Tuesday night. I think that’s going to tell us a lot. Because at this point we will be looking at, in some detail, at the plans themselves and this will be the first in-depth look at what the plans for this particular six acres site are.”Councilman Peter Hendler agreed, saying more information about the project is needed for residents and council members alike. That meeting gets underway earlier than usual, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Council Chambers of Marshfield City Hall. The project would then come back before the full Council for action at their meeting on November 12th.
