MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - State lawmakers have agreed to let wounded veterans hunt and fish in Wisconsin at a discount.
On voice votes Tuesday, both houses passed a bill that allows Purple Heart recipients both in-state and out of state to get big discounts on sporting licenses.
The measure now goes to Governor Scott Walker.
A combined hunting, fishing, and trapping license for Purple Heart recipients would cost $10 instead of $165 for Wisconsin residents -- and $161 instead of $600 for out of staters.
Non-residents with Purple Hearts could also pay the lower resident fees for separate fishing and gun-deer licenses.
