WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Wausau will consider a ban on cellphone use while driving. The city's public health and safety committee will review a proposed ordinance next month. Whatever they decide would then go to the full city council for a final vote.
This week the committee asked the city attorney to draft a hands-free-only cellphone ordinance. The exact language hasn't been made public yet.
Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids already require drivers to pull over to take calls, or use a hands-free device. Texting while driving is already banned under state law.
