ST. PAUL, MN (WTAQ) - Jeffrey Trevino's trial begins Monday.
He's the man accused of killing his wife, Wausau area native Kira Steger Trevino, at their home in St. Paul Minnesota in late February. Her body was found in early May in the Mississippi River in St. Paul, and her husband was charged before then with two counts of second-degree murder.
Relatives said the 30-year-old Kira was trying to leave her husband for another man at the time of the slaying.
Officials said considerable amounts of blood were found in a bedroom at the Trevinos' St. Paul home.
The defense will reportedly try to contend that someone else murdered Kira.
