WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A Wausau woman who threw out the body of her newborn baby was sentenced to three years’ probation yesterday. Prosecutors offered the plea bargain to Zoua Yang because they couldn't prove the baby was alive when it was born. She claimed that she didn't know that she was pregnant, and that the baby was stillborn.
The remains were taken to the Marathon County landfill and were never recovered.
Yang was sentenced to 7-months in jail on an unrelated neglect case involving her two other children. They were taken from her and placed in protective custody.
