MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Marshfield’s Common Council approved the city’s 2015 -2019 Capital Improvement Program Tuesday night. Mayor Chris Meyer says the C.I.P. sets priorities for the next five years, like maintaining the city’s streets and other infrastructure. According to Meyer, “It’s never easy to have to narrow projects down. We had some really good discussion this year, but we were able to keep a budget in place that maintains borrowing below levels that we’ve seen in the past at 2.5 million. We increased the amount of cash that we’re putting into projects, and we were able to prioritize roads above pretty much everything else.” Major reconstructions of East 29th and 17th Streets also received high priority in that five-year plan.
