MADISON, Wis. (Wheeler News Service) -- A pair of Jack Russell field goals was all the points scored in yesterday’s Wisconsin spring football game. Russell hit a 41-yard and 30-yard field goal in the third quarter, sealing a 6-0 win for the Cardinal team.

Austin Ramesh rushed for 71 yards in 12 carries for the Cardinal, while Tanner McEvoy threw for 55 yards in four completions. When asked if there was the possibility of McEvoy and Joel Stave battling for the starting quarterback spot, Head coach Gary Andersen says he proud of both quarterbacks and “it will be a fight”.
