WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- It's the start of the Wausau Chamber of Commerce Small Business Week, and state officials will be here for the events.
Today at the Jefferson Street Inn, the Chamber is starting off the day with a legislative roundtable. Development director Heather Martell says Monday will be a day for business owners to meet their legislators. "We'll start off the day with State Representatives Mandy Wright, John Spiros, Bob Kulp and Senator Jerry Petrowski. They'll be be on a panel, speaking and taking questions from the audience."
Governor Walker will be here to deliver the keynote address for the day at 12:45. Martell says they're excited to have him. "It's an opportunity for our members to be able to engage with their legislators."
Later that day, it's one more chance for last year's winners of Small Business of the Year to shine. Martell says group of open houses will be run in order to showcase those locations. "And those locations will be open, Youngs Drugstore and the Boys and Girls Club are 1:30 to 3:30, and RMM Solutions is from 4 to 6."
This year's winners of Small Business of the Year will be revealed at a Tuesday morning ceremony.
