Bond not reduced for Tomahawk man that shot his brother

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Tomahawk man remains jailed on a $70,000 bond for a bizarre shooting incident last month.

68-year-old Charles Lawn’s motion to reduce bond was denied by Lincoln County judge Jay Tlusty Monday. That means Lawn will have to post $10,000 in cash and another $60,000 in property to get out of jail.

It started as two drunk brothers arguing over a salt shaker. Lincoln County deputies found the men after a 9-1-1 hang-up call March 27th. They told officers they were OK, but the officers noticed the handgun on the table and the blood on the neck and clothing of the victim. The 53-year-old victim was shot in the shoulder by one of the two rounds fired.

Lawn is charged with attempted homicide, recklessly endangering safety, aggravated battery, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, and operating a firearm while intoxicated. His preliminary hearing is set for June 18th.
