Police looking for man charged in Sunday morning Rothschild bar shooting

ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Rothschild police and Marathon County deputies are looking for a suspect in a Sunday morning shooting in Rothschild.

Prosecutors have filed charges against 27-year-old Alex Hammoc of Wausau. He's accused of shooting a man during a bar fight outside of PJ's Log Jam on Business 51. He's now facing charges of recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and pointing a gun at a person.

Rothschild Police Chief Jeremy Hunt say a 25-year-old man was shot at P.J.’s Log Jam at about 2:11 a.m. Sunday. The gunshot victim was initially taken to St. Clare's Hospital in Weston, but later transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for further treatment. The man's name has not been released.

Hammoc is not currently in custody and police are looking for him.  If you know where Hammoc is or have any other information in this incident, call Rothschild Police at (715) 359-3879 or the Marathon County Crimestoppers anonymous tip line at (877) 409-8777.
