Search continues for fugitive Eric Hall

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- A man that eluded police in the Wisconsin Rapids area in July has not been caught yet. 38-year-old Eric T. Hall was nearly captured at a home in Vesper, but escaped while a friend lied about Hall’s whereabouts. There were at least two auto thefts involved with his escape from Vesper.

Hall was released from prison on June 10th. He was in trouble almost immediately, and an arrest warrant was issued June 13th. Hall has allegedly committed several new crimes throughout the summer including the theft of multiple vehicles, several burglaries, assault of a police officer, and he was involved in a high speed chase.

Wisconsin Rapids Police Chief Kurt Heuer says Hall has been seen in, or has connections to several Wisconsin counties including Portage, Marathon, Wood, Monroe, Jackson, Grant, Oneida, Sauk, Vilas, Eau Claire, Sauk, Barron, and Chippewa. Hall has also traveled out of state.

Heuer says anyone with information of Eric Hall’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement or local Crime Stoppers. He says only law enforcement should try to apprehend him, since he is considered armed and dangerous, and willing to do anything to avoid capture.  Heuer says a call to 9-1-1 is appropriate if Hall is spotted since he is considered dangerous.

Hall is a white male with several unique tattoos.
