WAUSAU Wis. (WSAU) -- An Athens man convicted of shaking his infant daughter to death in 2006 may have reached a plea agreement to avoid another trial.
32-year-old Quentin Louis was sentenced to 20 years in prison following a conviction of first-degree homicide in the March 2005 death of his four-month-old daughter. Former Marathon County Circuit Judge Vincent Howard ordered a new trial after the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a ruling involving disagreements by medical experts about alleged shaken baby syndrome injuries.
Electronic court records show Louis is to return to court February 25th for a plea and sentencing hearing. He has been behind bars since his arrest in March of 2005.
