MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Weston woman whose son reported her for illegally taking about $50,000 of Social Security disability income pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday.
54-year-old Susan Schepp admitted she used Social Security disability funds intended for her son.
She transferred the money from a joint account to her personal account, and then spent the money on items not related to her son’s care. When her son finished school and got a job, he asked Schepp to close the joint account but she didn’t do that. This account continued to receive funds intended for her son’s care.
Schepp will be sentenced in U.S. District Court May 5th.
