WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- Formal charges were filed Friday against the man involved in an armed standoff with police.
26-year-old Randall E. Bakken was arrested February 6th for an incident that began in his parent’s Pittsville home and ended in the Town of Port Edwards. Bakken is charged with recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.
Wood County Sheriff Thomas Reichert says Bakken got out of the vehicle and pointed the rifle up under his own chin, which led to about 45 minutes of negotiations until Bakken surrendered.
Bakken remains jailed on a $3,500 cash bond. Electronic court records show Bakken has a history of charges including drunk driving and obstructing officers.
