WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The Samuels Group of Wausau is in the middle of several lawsuits surrounding cost overruns at a University of Iowa construction project. Samuels Group was one of the contractors for a new college football practice facility. They've been sued by some sub-contractors, who claim they're still owed $1.5-million for the project.
Samuels Group counters that some of the sub-contractors caused delays on the project because they delivered metal panels that didn't match the specifications for the project.
Samuels Group has also filed a claim in federal court. They say the University of Iowa should have to pay them an additional $105,000 because of extra costs. A federal judge will review all of the cases.
Iowa was replacing a 25-year-old practice facility on its Iowa City campus. The project was finished in August, 2012.
