RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAU) -- Two people have been arrested in Rib Mountain after a Facebook post led deputies to respond to a false robbery.
Dispatch got a call Saturday afternoon from concerned family members after a woman posted that she was being robbed at her home. She claimed she didn't have access to her phone, and that one man had run away from the scene.
When deputies arrived, they found a man and a woman inside the home. The woman admitted she'd lied about the incident. Investigation showed there had been a disturbance at the home, but that it was not a robbery despite some property being removed from the home.
The woman is now under arrest for disorderly conduct, and another man is under arrest for criminal damage to property, attempted theft and disorderly conduct.
The investigation is still ongoing.
