WESTON, Wis. (WSAU) -- Police are investigating an incident involving a weapon at a Weston convenience store early Wednesday.
Everest Metro Police Captain Mark Hull says there were called to the Kwik Trip store at 3207 Schofield Avenue very early in the morning when an individual under 18-years-old with a long barrelled firearm entered the store, and instructed the staff to go behind the counter and call law enforcement.
When Everest Metro officers arrived, the store staff was allowed to leave and the individual gave the weapon to officers. Hull says no one was directly threatened with the weapon and no one was injured.
The individual was taken into custody and transported to a secure facility. The Crisis Team at North Central Health Care Center is evaluating the teen.
Since the subject is a minor, the name will not be released.
