WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A summer of cinema continues tonight on the 400 Block with Casablanca.
Wausau Events Director Kari Rasmussen says they're hoping to make it a good night for people looking for a good movie. "We have a lot of people who just want to have a great date night, or who don't have kids necessarily, and we just want to hit every demographic we can as Wausau Events."
This is the second movie this year that's not a family movie, a change Rasmussen says is aiming to help improve the culture in the area for young adults. "We have a lot of young professionals in the area, and we want to encourage folks to not only visit Wausau, but stay in Wausau, make Wausau your home, and realize it's nice when you're in your 20s and 30s without kids too." She says it's an effort Wausau Events and the Chamber of Commerce are hoping to work towards.
There might be rain in the forecast as well, but Rasmussen says she's not even worried. "It's a lot of wasted stress, so I'm confident Mother Nature will be on our side, and we're gonna press on and the movie will be shown on Friday."
The movie will start after dusk, but there will be events going on before hand. You're encouraged to stake out a spot early as well.
