STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Wisconsin Valley Fair starts today, but it’s not the only place where tents are going up to help accommodate large crowds.
It’s still fourteen days before Farm Technology Days begins in Portage County, but the setup has begun. Many of the tents went up yesterday, and more of the on-site construction work will continue. It takes nearly three weeks to raise the nearly 120 tents of all sizes used for Farm Technology Days. It will take another three weeks after the show to take them all down.
Starting August 12th, an estimated 80,000 people will be at Blue Top Farms and Feltz Family Farms in Plover for the annual show, which is hosted by a different county each year.
Some of the large machinery for the event will begin arriving later this week.
Volunteers are still needed to assist with many tasks during the show. Contact Amanda Baldischwiler by email or phone. Call (715) 434-6286 or email her at BaldischwilerA@co.portage.wi.us.
