BREAKING NEWS / URGENT: The State Supreme Court upholds Act 10, Voter ID, and the state's domestic partnership registry

MADISON, Wis (WSAU)  - The Wisconsin State Supreme Court upheld Act 10, the state law that limits the collective bargaining rights of state employees. The law from three years ago sparked protests at the state capital and led to the recall attempt against Governor Scott Walker. The court's ruling in favor of Act 10 was 5-2. Internal investigation by Milwaukee police into long response to stabbing call

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Police have started an internal investigation to find out why it took 20 minutes for officers to arrive at the scene of a stabbing where a woman died.

Barbara Killebrew was stabbed late Tuesday afternoon at a north side home.

The Journal Sentinel said rescue personnel from the fire department got there within 3 minutes after they were called. But they normally wait until police secure an emergency scene before starting treatment -- and police didn't arrive until 17 minutes after the ambulance team did.

Killebrew was pronounced dead 6 minutes after that.

Police lieutenant Mark Stanmeyer said a preliminary investigation showed that the dispatch call was not handled under the normal protocol. He said Chief Ed Flynn has addressed the matter with his command staff, and issued a department-wide directive.
