WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) --
The babysitter caught on hidden camera and then convicted of child abuse is going to prison. 20-year-old Jennifer Cronin was sentenced Friday to 20 months in prison for slapping on child with a cloth, and grabbing another around the waist inappropriately.
Cronin was caught after the parents of the children recorded her on hidden camera. She has been released on bond since charges were filed last March.
Along with the prison time, Cronin will be on supervised release for three years when she gets out.
As judge Michael Moran gave the sentence, Cronin said, “I am willing to admit I made a huge mistake.”
Since Cronin was out on bond almost immediately after being charged, there won’t be any credit for time served in jail. She also has to pay over 62-hundred dollars in restitution.
Cronin was taken into custody by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, who will transport her to the Taycheedah correctional facility near Fond du Lac.
