STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- Police in Stevens Point are putting out an alert on counterfeit bills in the area.
Officials say fake $5 and $20 bills have turned up over the last few weeks at local businesses, and a $10 note was found at McDonalds in February.
Police say the bills are unevenly made, and attempts have been made to try the age the bills by burning them. The bills have the appearance of being printed in an inkjet printer. If you do spot a phony bill, be sure to call police.
