WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- Investigators have released the name of the man that died after a Sunday afternoon traffic crash in Marathon county. He was 81-year-old Herman Roger Krueger of Merrill.

The crash happened at 4:21 p.m. Saturday on Highway N at the intersection with Highway Y in the Town of Norrie. Marathon County deputies say Krueger was taken to a Aspirus Wausau Hospital with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries, but he died later Saturday night.

Krueger was traveling westbound on CTH-N and collided with a northbound vehicle traveling on CTH-Y. The driver of the northbound vehicle received a minor injury and was not hospitalized. That driver is a Florida resident, and was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Hatley Fire Department assisted the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department at the crash scene.
