STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) — School board officials in Stevens Point have chosen an interim superintendent.
Board members held a closed session during Monday’s meeting to interview Dr. Lee Bush using Skype online technology. When the board returned to open session, they voted to hire Bush to take over for up to a year after the departure of Dr. Attila Wedinger this summer.
Bush most recently worked as interim superintendent for the Brookings Harbor School District in Brookings, Oregon He came out of retirement to serve that district November 3rd of last year. He also has background as a former Teacher of the Year and Distinguished Educator award winner in Florida.
Bush is also familiar with Wisconsin, having served as an interim superintendent for the Winter School District.
Dr. Bush will start when Dr. Wedinger’s contract expires at the end of June.
