WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) —
The man responsible for prompting police to surround a South 7th Street Wausau home Wednesday evening was in court Friday. 41-year-old David Shaw is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer while refusing to exit the house for about four hours.
Neighbors called police to the residence in the 100 block because of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they learned both the man and woman had warrants for their arrest, and the woman’s 8-month-old baby was inside the home.
Court documents say the biological father of a baby contacted police Tuesday, concerned about the well-being of his child. The baby’s father claims the baby’s mom was frequently using heroin and taking the child to a local strip club. Her name has not yet been disclosed.
Shaw is now held in the Marathon County Jail, unable to post a $2,500 dollar cash bond. Along with these charges, he will also have to face the animal abandonment charge from January that led to the original arrest warrant.
