(Elkhart Lake, WI) — Eau Claire and NASCAR driver Paul Menard had victories at the Milwaukee Mile and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on his resume. He picked up another big one at Road America in the Xfinity Series Saturday.
It has special meaning for the Wisconsin native because the course is in his home state and he went there many times as a youth.
Menard held off Ryan Blaney for the win. His crew chief says strategy was a big factor in the victory. During a mid-race pit stop, Menard was told he needed to save two gallons of fuel to avoid stopping again. He did it and he got the win, even though he only led nine of the 180 laps.
