MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) — The possible sale of City Hall Plaza will be the topic of a special meeting on Tuesday in Marshfield.
Before Marshfield city offices can be moved to a smaller more efficient location the current City Hall Plaza would first need to be sold; so Mayor Chris Meyer says three different developers will be presenting proposals to buy the 7-story building and turn it into a variety of options ranging from retail space to low-income or senior citizen housing.
According to Meyer, “December 1st there’ll be a special Common Council meeting where we have presentations on the three proposals we got for the purchase of City Hall, the redevelopment of it. There’ll be no action that night, but a week later at our regular Common Council meeting, we do expect the Common Council to select one of the firms to actually enter into an agreement to sell City Hall to.” The developers will also discuss how much they’d be willing to pay for the building, along with various financing options. That meeting will get under way at 5:30 Tuesday in the lower level chambers of City Hall.
