WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — The people behind a proposed trap, neuter, and return program for feral cats in Wausau are looking for volunteers to help.
The people trying to get a trap, neuter, and return program off the ground have invited potential volunteers to an informational meeting at Vino Latte in Wausau between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. If successful, they would catch feral cats and return them to the streets after they are fixed and vaccinated.
The group is led by Amie Leonoff, and they are putting together a proposal for Wausau’s City Council. That proposal will have to deal with every aspect of catching, caring for, and turning loose the feral cats, the costs, and how they plan to staff the effort.
The group is seeking volunteers to do everything from catching and releasing the cats to office work and grant writing.
Anyone interested can contact Leonoff at 715-212-8568, or just show up at the meeting.
