STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) — Another person has been charged for his part in the heroin death of a UW Stevens Point student.
Jordan Peterson was a 21-year-old Biology senior. He was found dead in his apartment on Briggs Street fourteen months ago. 27-year-old Erik Olsen is in custody, accused of supplying Peterson with the heroin that killed him.
Now, a second suspect has been named. Prosecutors filed charges against 21-year-old Charlie Phillips-Moore two weeks ago today for his involvement in the death. Prosecutors believe he was the supplier for Olsen, who would frequently travel to Madison to pick up the drugs for distribution around Stevens Point.
Phillips-Moore is scheduled for an initial appearance before Judge John Finn February 9th. He has been in prison since October for a Dane County drug conviction.
The trial of Erik Olsen is to begin April 13th. He remains in jail, unable to post a $100,000 cash bond.
