He says the fair exposes people to several of today’s hottest career opportunities. “Prospective students can explore opportunities in the automotive and diesel technology areas, in our manufacturing areas, including welding, machine tool, industrial mechanical, and a variety of engineering technology programs, and others.”
Javoroski says these industrial and technical skills are highly sought after by employers. “All areas of manufacturing, we see demand from employers within our district and outside of our district.”
Mid-State Technical College also has several opportunities to learn about renewable energy, which is also a market looking for employees. “We have a couple of different programs in renewable energy. We have renewable thermal and we have renewable electric, but we also have a renewable specialist area that people learn about a whole variety of renewable energies and how to apply it in all kinds of careers, everything from electricians and plumbers to architects and designers of buildings.”
