WISCONSIN, Wis. (WSAU) — An education program at the Wisconsin Rapids Boys & Girls Club received a financial boost from a business Friday. The club’s Diplomas to Degrees Program helps underserved teenagers prepare for college and career success by supporting youth studies, helping young people develop short, intermediate, and long term goals, and helps prepare students for lifestyles and skills needed in college and beyond. It also helps young people pursue and secure college financial aid.
The Diplomas to Degrees program received a $5,000 donation from AT&T through the company’s Aspire program, which AT&T Wisconsin President Scott T. VanderSanden says is one of the nation’s largest corporate initiatives committed to helping more students graduate from high school ready for college and careers.
Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Kent Anderson says the funding will help the program continue to help our youth graduate high school and go on to successfully enroll in and graduate college.
The award was given during a presentation at the Wisconsin Rapids club.
