RHINELANDER, Wis. (WXPR) — The state Senate Committee on Economic Development and Commerce is holding a meeting this afternoon at Nicolet College to hear about economic development. This is the second in a series of roundtables held by the committee around the state. The committee is chaired by Republican Richard Gudex of Fond du Lac. The ranking Democrat on the committee, Julie Lassa of Stevens Point says the committee will hear from invited persons from around the region. She says, “What Senator Gudex has said is that he is hoping to hear from individuals involved in economic development and the business community or the private sector to talk about what they think are opportunities and challenges to Wisconsin’s economy.” Community members addressing the committee have already been invited, but Lassa says the general public can contribute online. The meeting is at 2:00 p.m. at the University Transfer Center at Nicolet College.
