MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) — Thursday is Senior Day at the Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield, and fair manager Adam Fischer says the highlight of the entire fair for many of the older folks is Howie Sturtz and his Orchestra, and Sturtz says this year’s performance will be the his band’s last show ever.
Sturtz retired some time ago, but has kept returning to the Central Wisconsin State Fair, even after retiring.
That show starts at 2:30 in front of the grandstand, and Fischer said, “We’re hoping to see that grandstand filled with people who love Howie.”
There’s lots of other free entertainment on the grounds, and the seniors get discounted $5.00 admission into the fair until 6:00 p.m.
Fischer said the Family Entertainment Tent is always a big hit with the seniors with entertainment throughout the day. And even though it’s Senior Citizen Day, when evening rolls around it’s time to Rock and Roll in front of the grandstand with Vic Ferrari starting at 7:30.
