ST. LOUIS, MO (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers saw one of their players ejected from a game for the first time all season Saturday on the way to a 5-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hernan Perez took issue with an outside pitch called a strike to send him to the dugout with bases loaded in the top of the 8th, a chance for the Brewers to solidify their 1-0 lead and win the game. Instead, Perez was called out and ejected, and Milwaukee’s relief pitching staff collapsed, allowing all five of the Cardinals’ runs in the eighth inning.
After winning the first game, the Brewers still have a chance to split their last series with the Cardinals if they can win Sunday with ace pitcher Zach Davies making his first start against the NL Central rivals. Pregame coverage begins at 12:40 p.m. on the Brewers Radio Network.
WSAU PROGRAMMING NOTE: This Brewers game will be aired on our sister station, Fox Sports Radio AM 1390 and FM 93.9.
