ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The drawdown of Lake Wausau has been delayed for an undisclosed amount of time.
4 inches of water were supposed to be drained every day starting Monday for a total of up to 5 feet to complete repairs on the Domtar dam on Lake Wausau. According to Newsline 9, Domtar did not get approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to begin the drawdown.
The FERC received numerous complaints from duck hunters wanting the date moved to the spring so that it doesn’t affect the duck season. No word is out on if or when the drawdown will take place.
