WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Graebel Van Lines is announcing layoffs. The Wausau-based company notified the state that it will lay off 50 workers at its downtown Wausau office starting November 14th
The company said billing and credit jobs will be moved to branch offices and business development functions to their Dallas office. About 75 jobs will remain in Wausau.
About two years ago, Colorado-based Graebel Cos. Inc. agreed to sell Graebel Van Lines Inc. and the U.S. moving and storage operations of Graebel Movers Inc. to Robert and Vasilia Peterson, the founders of All My Sons Moving & Storage, based in Texas.
A worker at the downtown Wausau office who didn’t want her name used told WAOW NewsLine Nine there was crying when the announcement was made Wednesday morning. Some people who have worked for the company 20 years were told they were losing their jobs.
